"Dry" and "dehydrated" are often used interchangeably, but they describe two different things.
Dry skin
Dry skin is generally considered a skin type — it tends to produce less oil, and may feel rough or flaky. It's something you usually have consistently over time.
Dehydrated skin
Dehydrated skin is a temporary condition where skin is lacking water. Any skin type can become dehydrated — even oily skin. It can feel tight, look dull, or appear less plump.
How to care for each
Both benefit from hydration. Water-binding ingredients like hyaluronic acid and sodium PCA help skin hold onto moisture, while gentle, barrier-supporting formulas help keep it there. Our Hydration Duo is a simple place to start.
